Weight Training In-Class
We offer in-class courses in Victoria, BC. The Weight Training course runs regularly throughout the year and is an efficient, fun, and educational way to receive your Weight Training certification. It is a very practical course, so be prepared to move! If you do not see course dates that work for you, you can arrange a private course or take the Weight Training course online.
This enjoyable and thorough course covers every aspect of weight room instructing including how to design safe and effective programs, different types of programs to match different goals, and how to use machines in the gym as well as body-weighted exercises.

The Body Blueprint Weight Training Course will enable you to work in a weight room and write weight programs for your clients. This BCRPA-approved Weight Training course is comprehensive, educational and fun to do. And we are here to help you every step of the way.
The course includes the following topics: review of Anatomy, Muscles and Function, Introduction to Strength Training, Program Planning, Nutrition, Warm Up and Cardio, Weight Room Exercises, Flexibility, Exercise Risks, and more.
You will be provided with a Weight Training manual.
The In-Class Weight Training course usually runs over the weekend on a Friday evening 5:30 to 9pm and Saturday and Sunday 8:30 to 4pm, at a central location in Victoria, BC. If the dates don't work for you, we have private options as well. These courses are also always available online.
After the weekend, you will be asked to submit a final assignment, and you will have two months to do so. Once we've reviewed this, we will send you your certificate (provided you have the prerequisites you need).
Once you have your Weight Training certificate from Body Blueprint, if you wish to gain BCRPA certification, you are required to then complete your Instructor Competency Evaluation (ICE). We can walk you through this and evaluate it for you.
BCRPA will take about 4 to 6 weeks to approve your ICE, in which time you can practice writing Weight Training programs for friends/family/clients.
Then you can move onto the Personal Training Course.
