About
This enjoyable, educational and thorough course covers every aspect of weight room instructing including how to design safe and effective programs, different types of programs to match different goals, how use machines in the gym as well as body-weighted exercises. This is the second step in becoming a personal trainer and is the prerequisite for the Personal Training course. If you want to be a certified Weight Trainer or Personal Trainer in Canada, then this is the course you will need!
Times
Saturday and Sunday 9:00am - 4:00pm (times subject to change slightly)*
You will be sent the manual in advance and will be required to complete pre-course readings prior to attending the course.

Saturday at Pearkes Rec. Centre on Tillicum in Victoria BC
Sunday at Odyssey Gym on Nanaimo Street in Victoria, BC
Requirements
Pre-rec: You will need to have completed the Fitness Theory course first as much of the information you learn in Fitness Theory prepares you for the Weight Trainers course. If you have questions, please let us know.
Note that the Weight Training course is a prerequisite for the Personal Training course.
*Note that for BCRPA certification, you must have your Fitness Theory designation and First Aid and CPR as prerequisites before you can finish the Weight Training course. And after the course, you will need to complete and ICE within your first year of registration with BCRPA (or later if you have another BCRPA specialty).
