The Older Adults is a specialty module you can take after completing the Group Fitness, Aqua Fitness, or Weight Training courses. This enjoyable and thorough course will teach you the changes that occur as we age and how to safely and effectively train older adults.
We cover the following topics: chronological, biological, relative age, theories on aging, changes to the body, how to increase physical fitness, land and water based exercises, health screening, fitness testing, balance and coordination, strength and flexibility, postural changes, stages of change, health disorders and issues specific to older adults, mental health, lots of exercises for seniors and so much more.
Upon completion of this course you will be able to safely and confidently train seniors.
If you wish to become registered with your governing agency (BCRPA, etc), there is a short 30 question online exam and a short ICE (Instructor Competency Evaluation). We will help you succeed in both.
