The Online Fitness Theory Course is the foundation for becoming a certified Personal Trainer, Weight Room Instructor, Group Fitness Instructor, Aqua Fitness Instructor or Yoga. It is a thorough introduction to Fitness Theory and Exercise Physiology and involves 8 chapter assignments/quizzes and a final course quiz, with automatic results and feedback. You will have ability to speak with one of our tutors/instructors via email at any time throughout the course to ask questions, obtain further explanation or get help with the quizzes. With the Online Fitness Theory course, you will receive a PDF version of our nationally recognized Fitness Theory manual. You have the option of ordering the full-colour hard copy manual, as well. You will also receive tutorials for each chapter and videos to help you learn along with exam prep course materials.
You will need access to a computer or device where you can downloads and open a zip file and access Vimeo video links, read PDF, and type up assignments.
This course will prepare you to write the exam that allows you to register as a Fitness Leader with the B.C. Recreation and Parks Association (BCRPA), the Manitoba Fitness Council (MFC), Alberta Fitness Leadership Certification Association (AFLCA), the Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association (SPRA) and the Nova Scotia Fitness Association (NSFA). This exam is a prerequisite for your specialty module course (Weight, Group, Aqua, etc).
