This enjoyable and thorough course covers every aspect of weight room instructing including how to design safe and effective programs, different types of programs to match different goals, how use machines in the gym as well as body-weighted exercises. This is the second step in becoming a personal trainer and is the prerequisite for the Personal Training course. If you want to be a certified Weight Trainer or Personal Trainer in Canada, then this is the course you will need! This course will be taught by Personal Trainer, Christina Truscott.


Friday evening 5:30 pm - 9 pm, Saturday and Sunday 8:30 am - 4: 00pm (times subject to change slightly)*

*Please note that these times do not apply to the May blended course.

Must have completed Fitness Theory course or equivalent. 

If taking this course for certification and registration, Fitness Theory exam with designated registering body, as well as current First Aid and CPR, must be complete prior to receiving Weight Training Certificate. 

Note that the Weight Training course is a prerequisite for the Personal Training course.
