The Online Fitness Theory Course is the foundation for becoming a certified Personal Trainer, Weight Room Instructor, Group Fitness Instructor, Aqua Fitness Instructor or Yoga. It is a thorough introduction to Fitness Theory and Exercise Physiology and will prepare you for your Fitness Theory provincial exam. There are 3 options:

- Full Online course (digital only) or Full Online course (hard copy manual AND digital) includes all of the above and more. These courses involve 8 chapter assignments/quizzes plus more study material and a final course quiz, with automatic results and feedback, as well as feedback from your course providers when needed. You will have ability to speak with one of our tutors/instructors via email at any time throughout the course to ask questions, obtain further explanation or get help with the quizzes. We are here to help you every step of the way! (there is a 4 month deadline for the course, with option to extend; study material available to you for a year or more).

If you are looking for a refresh or would lile to self-study without worrying about interacting with instructors or timelines, you may prefer the following, less thorough option:

- Digital Study-Prep Course: involves self-study quizzes with instant answers, hours of video, a full digital manual, and exam prep information and study material. An automatic certificate will be provided at the end of the course showing you've completed the study-prep final assignment. This course does NOT include detailed feedback, responses from educators, personalized help over email, an emailed certificate showing full and successful completion of the full Fitness Theory course. Material will be available to you for a year following purchase.

With the Online Fitness Theory course, you will receive a PDF version of our nationally recognized Fitness Theory manual. You have the option of ordering the full-colour hard copy manual, as well. You will also receive tutorials for each chapter and videos to help you learn along with exam prep course materials.

You will need access to a computer or device where you can downloads and open a zip file and access Vimeo video links, read PDF, and type up assignments.

This course will prepare you to write the exam that allows you to register as a Fitness Leader with the B.C. Recreation and Parks Association (BCRPA), the Manitoba Fitness Council (MFC), Alberta Fitness Leadership Certification Association (AFLCA), the Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association (SPRA) and the Nova Scotia Fitness Association (NSFA). This exam is a prerequisite for your specialty module course (Weight, Group, Aqua, etc). 

Once the course materials are sent you have access to them so no refunds will be issued. You will be given 4 months from the date of purchase to complete the course. (if you need more time, please let us know at the time of order; otherwise, you can purchase an extension later). Thank you for your understanding.

The digital manual is non-printable. If you'd like a printed copy, please order one (and you will also receive the digital copy right away).



Once the course is sent you, we recommend you complete it within four (4) months (estimated to take about 30 hours total). This is more than enough time as most students finish in less than a month. To receive your Fitness Theory certificate, you must get all assignments in by 4 months. This is to ensure our students get the most up to date information
